Auto answer in FOP2

  1. 9 years ago

My operator is somewhat confused as to when initiating a call from the GUI, she receives a call first to her extension. Now this is how FOP2 works, but I am trying auto answer to get around that, which works well when she initiates a call, but is of course not practical when she receives a regular call, where she should be able to decide when she wants to pick it up with no auto answer. Is there a way to reconcile this, let's say auto answer only when she initiates a call and Asterisk rings her extensions?

    Thanks.

You can set the originatechannel on the buttons page in the fop2 manager to use the auto answer feature code for freepbx (It is usually *80), so calls *initiated* by fop2 will be autoanswered. Suppose your receptionist extension is 100, you can set the originatechannel to be Local/*80100@from-internal

    Best regards,

  3. Works beautifully.
    Thanks.

  4. Except for one thing.
Each time the operator initiates a call and auto answer occurs, a popup appears on her desktop indicating an incoming call from her own extension. Any way to not have this happen?

  5. Also this only works on my Yealink IP phone. If I am using a Zoiper softclient and have set originatechannel to Local/*80"ext"@from-internal, the auto answer doesn't work. My client rings twice and then hangs up.
    Debug attached.

Auto answer working or not on a phone is a thing of asterisk and the phone, not FOP2. There is nothing FOP2 can do as it does not handle phones at all, nor sip or anything, all is done through asterisk. As for the popup, there is no way to remove it.
