Two questions about FOP2 License

  1. 9 years ago

    Dear Sir,
Got two questions about FOP2 License that need your help.
The first one is, if I active license on one server(10.10.10.10), but later we have to change IP of that server( 192.168.3.123) . Will it any side effect in FOP2 license that we installed ?

The second question is, if we installed license on one server, and some hardware issue happen on that server(Maybe Hard drive crash or broken) ? can we change a new hard driver and re-active license on same server ?

    Thanks for your response.

    Hi,

An ip address change won't break a license, but a hostname change could break it. So, whenever you plan to change network configuration, or if you plan to upgrade hardware, you should revoke the license first, so you can later register it again with the same activation code. To revoke run

    /usr/local/fop2/fop2_server --revoke

After successful revocation, you can use /usr/local/fop2/fop2_server --register on a new installation or after you change your network configuration.

If you have a fatal crash that cannot let you revoke a license, then you have to request a manual revocation to us. That might take days, and manual revocations are limited/counted. Do not forget to perform the revocation yourself when doing network config changes, hardware changed, or moving virtual nodes around, etc.
