New call to "external tranfer" entry?

Is there a way that I'm missing to initiate a call to the "external transfer" entry for a user in FOP2? We have a location where it's common to call people's mobile numbers and I can't find a way to do this from FOP2 without building out custom extensions for everyone.

Also, on semi-related note, is 2.29 ready for use now? We have some issues that I think are related to Asterisk 11 and we can't switch to 13 until we switch to FOP2 2.29.

FOP 2.29 is not yet finalized but it is quite stable and usable. The final release will have minor tweak, documentation updates and the like (not new features).

As for external transfers, not sure exactly what you mean about building things? You have to log into the manager, select the buttons tab and fill the External field with the remote/mobile number, then when on a call, you can select the target extension and transfer to mobile action button to transfer to that number (Defined previously via manager).

    Best regards,

  3. Right. What we want to do is initiate a new call to the "External Transfer" entry from FOP2, not transfer a call. This is much faster than manually keying the persons cell in, picking it from the directory, etc.

What we've done for now is setup a group of Custom Extensions in FreePBX that, when called, make an outbound call to that person's cell. So we have two buttons for every person in FOP2 right now- one for their internal phone and one for their cell phone. This adds clutter to the screen. What we'd like is a button that is for "Call External".

Ah! I got it now. Well, you cannot dial to the external number, there is no such button in the action bar. Perhaps the transfer button can be repurposed/contextualized so it will dial when you are not on a call, but that would be on a future release.

    Best regards,

  5. Yes, being able to initiate a call to the external number by pressing the button would be a very useful feature.
