Listen Not Working

  1. 12 years ago

I am running version 2.22 and I can't seem to get the Listen feature to work. I am using FreePBX module and have the listen option selected for this user. I look through the logs and don't see anything from Asterisk telling me why it isn't working. Can anyone give me some insight on to what might be the problem?

    Thanks,
    Jon

Are you using FreePBX? Device and User mode, or regular mode?

Check the asterisk FULL log, or start fop2_server in debug mode to inspect commands and potential errors.

    service fop2 stop
    cd /usr/local/fop2
    script capture.log
    ./fop2_server -X 511
(log into fop2, try to listen/whisper)
    ctrl-C
    exit

Then chekc the capture.log file and search for "spy" or related keywords..

  3. I am running in normal mode. I ran the commands that you listed and don't see anything that says spy that I understand is there a way I can upload the file to you or to the forum for review?

The file is probably large and with potential sensitive information, so it is best not to post it here.

When you initiate a spy action, a command is sent "tospy", so that works MUST be on the log file. If you do not see it, either you are not performing the action correctly on the FOP2 web (did you select the target extension to listen to before clicking the listen/whisper button?), or you did not start the debug session correctly.

Also, be sure the button you are trying to listen does not have privacy set to anything, as privacy is just for that (preventing an extension from being spied).

    Best regards,

  5. Well good new I was within my 1 year so I upgraded to the newest version and that fixed it. I did find a post about version 2.22 having issues with the Listen feature working so I decided to upgrade. Thanks for you help!!
